The words drift through the back of my mind. I know the story is there and can’t seem to catch it. It’s quite frustrating. This craft I have chosen is more difficult then most. There is no fudging the seams here. Precision is the key to it all. Each word fits another like a puzzle made by some distant genius, something that I have temporarily lost the key for. There it is, a dangling participle, another grammatical faux pas that I am guilty of on a regular basis. It’s really a good thing that you can’t be hung for grammatical crimes.

Words can cut. They can move nations to war. They can kill with the pain they inflict. Or they can bring joy and happiness. Which is it to be for me? I wonder if they will ever be read and appreciated by another. I wonder if my words will heal or hurt.

But then again, I wonder if it’s all for nothing. If these stories that are in me will not make the jump from imagination to paper. I suppose for that, I am the only one who will ever know and so I should start. Today.

Here are two books you can purchase that contain my work and the work of the Walpole Writers Group of Walpole, MA.  I'm proud to know them and prouder to be included as an equal.
